So instead of people calling me stupid & whatever can someone help me out with this letter?

It’s an college entry letter, yes I have really bad grammer. If your willing to help me out my email is chrisadamorocco@yahoo.com thanks!!!!

If I had to describe myself in one word I couldn’t do it, not to sound cocky or anything I just can’t. I like to look at myself & think that I’m ahead of my years. As an kid I LOVED going to school. I use to cry & get upset if my mother signed me out for early dissmals, because I had a doctor’s appointment or for whatever reason. God forbid if I didn’t get to go to school at all for that day. You would need a mop to clean up all thoses tears. I loved going to school to learn about anything. Learning filled a void for me that I was missing at home. Learning made me feel special. My biggest critic is myself & I can’t stress this enough. The reason why this is because I didn’t exactly have the greatest childhood growing up. My mother would yell at me all the time & tell me that I was no good & that I would never amount to anything. I had no father around to wipe the tears from my eyes, so I learn at a very young age that if you want something you better go for it. I see young adults my age that walk around & expect the world to bend over backwards for them. The way I see it is the world doesn’t owe you nothing! You owe the world. What I mean by this is that you owe the world & yourself to strive to be a productive member of society & to take pride in everything you do, never give up or give in, even an inch. Although I’ve been through many trials and tribulations, I’ve always found a way to succeed.

Education is the key to the door of opportunities. I know it sounds so old fashion but it’s so true. To be honest, I haven’t always had straight A’s or been an honor roll student, but I have alway’s felt that education is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Alot of people don’t realize that education that one has or receives affects the lives of the people around them, or matter afact your children that you’ll have some day. How will you care for them without a good job? You can’t .I’ve worked diligently my entire life, and after taking several years off from school I would like to focus my attention on school. I’m ready to go back. I’m determined to succeed and take advantage of all the classes involved with your Advertising and Marketing curriculum.

I feel that I will succeed in your Advertising and Marketing program is because I’ll be guided by a faculty of practicing professionals, pretty much the best of the best. That will teach me everything I need to know. Like creating integrated marketing communication campaigns for advertising, public relations, direct marketing, and sales promotions. Also I’ll learn how to develop media plans and special events; direct and produce television and radio commercials; and write print ads, press releases, and newspaper and magazine articles. The way I feel about this program is that I’m in good hands. That’s a great feeling knowning that I will have practicing professionals as professors that want me to succeed a much as I do.

FIT would be a huge stepping stone for my future. I know that life has its trade-offs and getting an education at FIT can open so many doors. FIT’s approach to teaching is so unique from any other colleges, which is the reason why I know I would benefit from your school. It’s educational approach and direct connection with the industry is what sets this school apart from the rest. With my experience and a college degree in my hand, I feel as if the possibilities are endless.

Job offer through school email.too good to be true? or real?

I got this email, and a few others, in my school email address. I don’t know whether it’s real or not because things do exist like this…Like today in class we filled out a survey on an ad a company was going to run after researching how it affected people. (Although we did not get paid for that one, we just get extra credit for the class it was in)

Also, my roomie has been getting some emails too. We are both in the Recording Industry program which is part of Mass Communications so advertising IS an area close to our area.

Here’s exactly what the email says…

“Dear Kody,

I would like to offer you a challenging and well-paid employment opportunity. An International Marketing Research Organization recruits self-motivated and reliable individuals, willing to take part in well-paying research studies conducted for leading US and international businesses. Your opinion as a consumer is important for the success and profitability of many business ventures. That is why they are ready to pay generously for what you think.

You can earn from $300 to $550 a week for participating in online surveys, focus group discussions, and product/service evaluations. Become part of our Marketing Research Organization and earn:

from $5 to $100 for participating in on-line surveys
from $30 to $150 for participating in product/service evaluations
from $50 to $250 for participating in virtual focus group discussions

For your work, you will need just a computer with Internet connection and a valid e-mail address. You will decide when to work and which surveys to take while enjoying the comfort of your room. If you like the job, you can keep it as long as you want!

If you want to become one of our survey takers, please write back and I will send you more information.

Sincerely,
Carla Baker ”

I looked to see if “Carla Baker” went to MTSU (the school I go to) and she isn’t in the system…Not that that means a lot..but still lol.

What’s your opinion on it? Thanks for your answers!
*UPDATE*
I posted this question a few minutes after I read the last email (the one I posted) and I still have no reply. I guess I’ll wait a few days and see if they ever reply. If not I guess it is a scam. Although, like one answer said…it does take time so they would be willing to pay a little at least. lol. So who knows, thanks for answering though!
*UPDATE #2*

Some girl was standing in the middle of a courtyard thing with a sign mentioning doing surveys, and was being recording. I think it was for the MTSU tv channel….But I still have not heard anything from the person who emailed me.

Should I ask a professor for a permission number by email?

I just went to a class early to get a permission number, but there were already hordes of people there waiting for the same thing. I have other classes I need permission numbers from but, how do I beat people to get in first? Should I email the professor asking if they could reseve a spot for me? I need these classes :( So should I email them ahead of time?

What do you think of my college entry letter? Please help thanks?

If I had to describe myself in one word I couldn’t do it. I like to think that I’m ahead of my years. As an kid I loved going to school. I used to cry and get upset if my mother signed me out for early dismissals if I had a doctor’s appointment; God forbid if I didn’t get to go to school at all for that day! You would need a mop to clean up all thoses tears. I loved going to school just to learn. Learning filled a void for me that I was missing at home. Learning made me feel special.

My childhood experince will be the driving force towards my success at The Fashion Institute of Technology. I am my biggest critic- I can’t stress that enough. This trait is due to my childhood. My mother would yell at me often, telling me that I was no good and that I would never amount to anything. I had no father around to encourage me. I was the middle child of three other brothers. I was the child that would get blamed for everything. Nothing came easy for me. So I learned at a very young age that if I wanted something, I’d have to go for it myself. I see people my age that seem to expect the world to bend over backwards for them. I feel the world doesn’t owe me. If anything, I owe the world. Although I’ve been through many trials and tribulations, I’ve always found a way to succeed and at The Fashion Institute of Technology I will do just that “Succeed”.

I believe education is the key to the door of opportunities. I know it sounds so old fashioned, but it’s so true. A lot of people don’t realize that education that one receives affects the lives of the people around them, or your children that one might have some day. A good job is necessary to care for them, and education is needed for that. I’m determined to succeed and take advantage of all the classes involved with your Advertising and Marketing curriculum.
I feel that I will succeed in your Advertising and Marketing program because I’ll be guided by an amazing faculty of practicing professionals. I look forward to learning such topics as creating integrated marketing communication campaigns for advertising, public relations, direct marketing, and sales promotions. I also hope to learn how to develop media plans and special events, direct and produce television and radio commercials, and write print ads, press releases, and newspaper and magazine articles.I know as a student at FIT I will bring a positive additude, excitment to learn, motivation and leadership. I can’t wait to have practicing professionals as professors that want me to succeed a much as I do.

FIT would be an amazing opportunity. Getting an education at FIT can open so many doors. FIT’s approach to teaching is so unique from any other colleges, which is the reason why I know I would benefit from your school. It’s educational approach and direct connection with the industry is what sets this school apart from the rest.

Hopefully, I’ve proved how determined and ready I am to attend your school. I could go on and on, but in the end, I would just like you to know that attending college at FIT would change my life. The chance to meet teachers and peers that are in the industry is priceless. If I am accepted into your school, it would be an honor. I would take each class seriously, and strive to get the best grades possible. With the experience I will get at FIT, I feel as if the possibilities are endless. Hopefully, you give me the opportunity to make it happen.

If anyone could help me out that would be awesome email me at chrisadamorocco@yahoo.com thanks so much

How can u get permission from instructor if his/her email address isn’t listed anywhere?

going to speak to them isn’t an option since classes start the day after I arrive on campus

Is Drexel University right for me?

I’m considering my major to be any of these: engineering field (software or just general), computer science, maybe a minor somewhere in mathematics, accounting, or marketing. It’s all a little hazy at the moment.

I wish to stay in the tri-state region since I’m from NJ. My top options right now are Rutgers and USP (for computer science, although I’m not too sure how good their program is for computer science). Now I’m stumbling across Drexel and it is appealing to me a lot. I’m thinking I would get in based on my stats. But about the school itself, how are the classes (particularly for the majors I mentioned), what is it like living in Philadelphia, how are the dorms, and anything else about the school would be great. I want to know if this school would suit me well (or if I would fit in well with the school).

GPA: 3.42 out of 4.0 (3.94333 weighted)
Rank: Should be between 15-20% (closer to 15)
SATs: 610 Critical Reading, 790 Math, 660 Writing
No ACTs or SAT Subject Tests. Not too many extra curriculars either.

*Is this for everyone? I received an email from Drexel saying that I’m a VIP and I received a VIP application, where theres no application fee, no essay, a quick admissions decision, and automatic scholarship consideration. Is this common and something that everyone gets? Or is this kind’ve “special”*

How do you find participants for a research survey?

I need 100 people to answer a survey but it has to be people who consider themselves frequent television watchers. How can I find 100 people willing to take a 10 question survey??

How do colleges market to existing students?

How do colleges and universities market to incoming (registered) freshmen and returning students over the course of the summer, i.e., at their non-campus addresses?
> Direct mail: What kinds of things are sent? Fornats (e.g. packages, letters or postcards) and contents/key messages (e.g., be sure to come to orientation…here’s your Campus Orientation Kit, etc.
> Email: What kinds of message are sent? Links provided to the college web site for additional detail? Is school email account used or student’s personal email account?
> Have you ever seen schools include advertising for local businesses (e.g., Bed & Bath, Pizza Hut) in any of their materials or in orientation handouts?

If you provide examples, please mention name of school. Thanks so much.
