How many questions should be in a survey?

Hi,

Part of my assessment requires me to write a survey. The survey is aimed at university students and their views on blood donation (reasons why many people don’t donate being the main focus).

QUESTION: how many questions should be in the survey, just a rough estimate.

The survey will have to include demographic questions (age, gender etc) as well as open ended questions.
Also, any tips on general survey writing would be much appreciated!

Cheers.

How to process a ranking question in a survey?

Hi,

I created a survey which includes questions where the respondents have to put a number beside 7 items from 1 to 7. 1 being the most important.

Now, I was wondering how should I process and display the results in a report : do I show an average for each question with the number entered or do I display all the possible combination with their occurrence.

Any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks tehabwa,

I liked your idea on the “rawest” data which lead me to produce a rather long report, but yet more significant.
